"Connecting People Through Art, Nature and Mindfulness.
As a passionate creative teacher and a mother of two, my love for art has been a lifelong journey. In school, I thrived on hands-on activities, constantly experimenting at home, whether it was making homemade glue from flour and water or using feathers from pillowcases to create little birds on paper. Unlike the traditional classroom setting, where I often found myself doodling instead of focusing on equations, art became my outlet for expression, play, and relaxation. Fast forward, and after completing my degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Design, I completed my PGCE and went into teaching and have taught Art, Design, and Photography ever since.
I want to share my teaching skills and knowledge, emphasising the need to slow down and reflect in today's chaotic, digital world. I love art and nature, finding solace and inspiration in both. Being surround with the natural world and creating art help me maintain my mental well-being. As a mental health first aider, I've seen how loneliness, modern pressures and digital overload affects both adults and children alike. That's why I'm passionate about using art to nurture our souls. These activities not only spark creativity but also provide a sense of peace and connection. Inspired by this belief, I created Berylou art workshops hoping that I can bring people together to create, have fun, and enjoy the healing powers of the creative process.
